Alyson
PRE-FREESKATE, AGE 12
COACH: LAUREN GWINN
Alyson is in 6th Grade. She has been skating for only 8 months. Her favorite thing about skating is the number of different moves and variations that can be done. When not skating, Alyson enjoys art and music. In the future, Alyson wants to land an axel.
Brynlynn
PRE-PRELIMINARY, AGE 11
COACH: LAUREN GWINN
Brynlynn is in fifth grade. She has been skating for eight years, beginning at age three. Her favorite thing about skating is self-expression and that there are always new things to learn. When not skating, Brynlynn enjoys showing market hogs, hanging out with friends, and reading. In the future, Brynlynn hopes to land her axel and compete out of state.
Eleanor
PRE-FREESKATE, AGE 8
COACH: LAUREN GWINN
Eleanor is in third grade and is homeschooled. She has only been skating for one year. Her favorite thing about skating is learning new things. When not skating, Eleanor enjoys Girl Scouts, ballet, and performing magic. In the future, Eleanor hopes to make it to the Olympics and become a zoologist.
Elizabeth
FREE SKATE 1, AGE 12
COACH: MICHELLE KOEWLER
Elizabeth is in 7th Grade. She has been skating for 2 years. Her favorite thing about skating is watching others perform and the enjoyable, free feeling when she is on ice. When not skating, Elizabeth enjoys painting, art, crafts, tennis, violin, piano, saxophone, reading, movies, listening to music, outdoor activities, being with friends, and taking pictures. In the future, Elizabeth hopes to go as far as she can in figure skating and to become a professional photographer and artist.
Leonora
FREE SKATE 2, AGE 10
COACH: LAUREN GWINN
Leonora is in fifth grade. She has been skating for one year. Her favorite thing about skating is learning new jumps. When not skating, Leonora enjoys ballet, 4H (Showing rabbits), and fishing. In the future, Leonora hopes to participate in more competitions and pass her moves in the field test. She also is looking forward to getting her point shoes in ballet.
Maia
AGE 15
COACH: LAUREN GWINN
Maia is in ninth grade. She began skating at age five. Her favorite part of skating is the freedom of expression. When not skating, Maia enjoys speech and debate, playing guitar, tennis, and art club, where she serves as vice president. In the future, Maia hopes to teach for Learn to Skate and improve her skills.
Melanie
FREE-SKATE 3, AGE 18
Melanie is in twelfth grade. She began skating at sixteen. Her favorite part of skating is learning new skills and challenging herself. When not skating, Melanie enjoys singing, track, dancing, traveling, and being with her friends and family. In the future, Melanie hopes to earn a degree in zoology and work as a zookeeper. She also hopes to keep skating.
Danielle
WEBMASTER, PARENT
Danielle is Eleanor’s mother. She is a costume designer, educator, voice actor, and magician. She holds a BFA in Theatre from West Virginia University and an MA in Arts & Entertainment Administration from Valparaiso University. Danielle is lifelong figure skating fan.
Rachel
SECRETARY, PARENT
Rachel is Brynlynn’s mother and secretary of the Wooster Figure Skating Club. She is an ELA teacher at Ashland City Schools. Although she is not a skater (she can barely stand up on skates) she enjoys watching her daughter compete and continue to grow in the realm of figure skating.
